My Cause My Cleats

NFL Players Lace Up for Charitable Causes

Hundreds of NFL players will showcase causes that are important to them with custom cleats for the NFL's My Cause My Cleats campaign.

As part of the collaboration between the NFL and players, players will represent hundreds of charitable organizations that focus on causes from youth wellness to sex trafficking prevention and support for single parents.

For the seventh consecutive season, the NFL will celebrate Unboxing Day, a league-wide unveiling of the players’ custom cleats. Players will unbox their cleats in hospital visits, classrooms, locker rooms and on stadium fields on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1. Through Week 14, players will share images of their cleats and the stories behind them on social media, using the hashtag #mycausemycleats.

The league will post videos and profile cards on NFL.com to tell the stories behind the cleats. Many players have worked directly with Nike, Under Armour and adidas to design their cleats. Other teams worked with an independent designer to create cleats for participating players.

Commitment to Causes

My Cause My Cleats allows players to express their commitment to the causes that are most important to them.

“Our players are passionate supporters of many charitable causes and serve as changemakers in their communities," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. "We are excited to build upon last year's success and work with our players to expand this unique platform that enables them to raise awareness for causes they support.”

Players will have the opportunity to raise money for their cause by auctioning their cleats off at NFL Auction; 100% of money raised will be donated to the player’s charities. Fans may bid on game-issued player cleats to help players raise funds for their chosen causes.
