NFL Women’s Community

The NFL Women’s Community connects women across football through NFL-specific initiatives and various resources, encompassing the breadth and depth of football.

Launched in 2013, the Women’s Community intends to grow, strengthen, and develop the many opportunities for women involved in football.

“The NFL Women’s Community will provide resources and awareness to women who work in football, play football, are players’ mothers, wives or significant others, and are fans of the game,” said Troy Vincent, Sr., NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations. “The vision is to create community and engagement with women through information, resources, and activities encompassing the breadth and depth of football.”

The Women’s Community provides:

• Initiatives designed and implemented by NFL clubs specifically for women.
• Resources and information that cover a wide variety of interests within football.
• Partnerships with organizations who engage with and support women in football.

Initiatives

Clubs across the NFL have developmental efforts, women’s groups, and various resources for women connected to football. See below to learn more about team-specific resources.

Fellowships​

Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship: Candidates gain experience with an NFL coaching staff during training camps and offseason workout programs.

Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship​: Interested and qualified candidates are exposed to a career in professional scouting.

Officiating

NFL Mackie Development Program: The NFL Mackie Development Program was created to give experienced collegiate football officials the opportunity to be developed, mentored, and educated with the hopes of improving the overall quality of football officiating. The program looks to expand the base of highly qualified officiating candidates aspiring to be selected for the NFL. Scouted candidates will receive year-to-year evaluations for consideration of future NFL officiating positions.

Women Officiating Now (WON): Learn the basics of football, the fundamentals of officiating, and leadership skills that are useful on and off the field.

Forums

HBCU Medical Advisors Forum: The NFL hosts the HBCU Medical Advisors Forum annually as part of its ongoing, league-wide commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Forum connects more than 50 medical professionals from HBCU athletic departments and provides participants with best practices for the care and wellness of their athletes and coaching staff. Attendees’ roles range between Head Coach, Team Physician, Athletic Training, Performance Coach, Clinicians, and Strength & Conditioning coaches.

NFL Women’s Forum: Focused on the coaching and front office/football operations aspect of the game. Geared towards women not working in the NFL but have experience working in football and want to broaden their understanding of the game.
