Here are the rules for the 2023 NFL Pro Bowl Games.
GAMES 1 AND 2:
- There shall be NO overtime period. If the score is tied at the end of regulation, the point value for that game will be split equally between the AFC and NFC teams' total scores.
SERIES OF DOWNS
- Each team receives four (4) downs to pass mid-field for a first down.
- Each team receives four (4) downs to pass the Goal Line for a touchdown.
- 4th down: Official will ask the Head Coach to declare "PUNT or PLAY" If declaration is "PUNT" the ball will be moved to the opposition's 5-yard line, and they will start their possession from the 5. If "PLAY" the offensive team has until the expiration of the play clock to run a play or use a time out. They can change their declaration to "PUNT" after a time out. If unsuccessful on 4th down, the opposing team takes over at the dead ball spot.
GAME 3
BREAK BETWEEN THE END OF REGULATION WILL BE 3 MINUTES
- A coin flip will take place before the start of Game 1 to determine which team gets to choose to be on offense or defense first. The team that does not call the toss at the start of Game 1 will call this toss. The first possession and declaration of the offensive team for this period will be made at this time, including which endzone the teams will be using.
- In the first overtime, each team will have a choice to go for 1-point from the 5-vard line or 2-points from the 10-yard line.
- If the score is tied after the first overtime period, both teams must go for 2-points from the 10-yard line and play to a winner.
- If interception is returned for a touchdown, the game is over.
- If either team has timeouts left from regulation, they may be utilized during the overtime period.
