The NFL kicks off the league's second century and 2020 season with "2020 NFL Kickoff Presented by EA Sports Madden 21” as the Super Bowl LIV Champion Kansas City Chiefs host the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium.

The season opener features two of the best young quarterbacks in the game — Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and Texans' Deshaun Watson. Both quarterbacks have led their respective teams to division titles in each of the past two seasons. In the 2019 AFC Divisional Round, Kansas City defeated Houston, 51-31 after trailing 24-0, becoming the first team in NFL history to win a playoff game by at least 20 points after trailing by at least 20 points. Kansas City also overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to win Super Bowl LIV.

The 2020 NFL Kickoff celebrates the return of football and recognizes an unprecedented offseason that included the historic social justice movement and community engagement of NFL players and clubs across the country. Through Inspire Change, the NFL continues its long-term commitment of working in communities to bring positive change.

Before kickoff, the NFL-produced Kickoff livestream “It Takes All of Us” presented by EA Sports Madden 21 will celebrate the start of the season and consist of the Chiefs’ community impact, Inspire Change and a 2020 season preview. The livestream will run across NFL Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, NFL.com, Twitch and TikTok.

A special rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” will be featured during the pregame coverage and celebrated throughout Kickoff Weekend. These features will spotlight the history of the song and highlight the work of NFL players in their communities.

The league's “It Takes All of Us” campaign will use the scale and power of the NFL to work to unite the country. The season-long campaign connects all league efforts around social justice and will also honor those on the frontlines in the COVID-19 crisis. During Week 1, all NFL fields will feature end zone stencils with the words, "It Takes All of Us" and "End Racism."

NFL players, coaches and officials can honor social justice heroes or victims of systemic racism or police brutality with helmet stickers and patches. More than 1,400 players and 300 coaches and officials have selected names or phrases, including “It Takes All of Us,” “End Racism,” “Stop Hate,” and “Black Lives Matter.” Players also can choose to wear a warmup tee-shirt with “Injustice Against One of Us, Is Injustice Against All of Us” on the front of the shirt, and “END RACISM” on the back.

In addition to airing on NBC, the 2020 NFL Kickoff game will be streamed live across all devices via NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app, NFL.com and the NFL app. Fans on mobile devices can stream the game via the Texans’ and Chiefs’ mobile properties, Yahoo Sports, and other Verizon Media and NFL properties. Audio coverage of the game is provided by Westwood One Radio, SiriusXM and the TuneIn app.

Al Michaels will call the action alongside Cris Collinsworth. Michele Tafoya will report from Arrowhead Stadium. Three-time Super Bowl referee Terry McAulay will be the Sunday Night Football rules analyst.
